Stafford CU is the Christian Union for the Stafford Campus of Staffordshire University (we know the title’s a bit long!) If you’re going to be on the Stoke Campus then have a look at our friends over at Stoke CU’s website -http://www.staffscu.org.uk.
If you’re going to be joining us in September then why not get to know us now? Join our group on Facebook and introduce yourself on the wall. Ask any questions you want about the CU, the uni or Stafford in general. While you’re at it, if you’re on Twitter follow us for more up to the moment news and info (@StaffordCU).
Once you’re here, come find us at the Clubs and Societies Fair during Freshers Week and get some info from us about all the events we’ll be running to get to know you better.
And we will also be doing a Church Crawl, so that you get settled into a church as soon as possible :)
Tips for Freshers
Bring a doorstop - the best way of getting to know your new flatmates when you move into halls is to keep your door open and not lock yourself away.
Bring a bible – many people will tell you that uni is a time where you tend to lose your faith, but the exact opposite is true for most people. With more free time to do what you want it’s easy to fit a bit of reading into your day.
Bring a smile – the first week of uni, which you’ll here most people call Welcome Week or Freshers Week, is a week you won’t soon forget! There are so many things going on that you’ll be meeting new people practically every minute of the day. The greatest thing about uni is the people. You’ll be living the next few years of your life with all these guys so make the most of it.
Don't be scared to enjoy yourself - You may be a Christian, but you shouldn't be afraid to have fun, go out, make new friends, try new things. You can have fun and still believe in Christ, and it's very important to do so. University is where you find out who you are.
We can’t wait to meet you!
